Hey, how about beating this crap the hard way? No joking, that's how I earned the badge. Though a technique I later developed - which is especially useful against the _root.values anti-cheat countermeasures - can be used for this dirty fuckjob. This is probably the most powerful way existing at this moment to hack any Flash game on Kongregate, given that you know of the names of the variables you would like to hack. However, a Firefox extension in development called Muspell sounds like having even greater potential by condensing all the steps inside the video into a tiny browser addon, though when I tried to download the beta release, it has kinda disappeared or been taken off for the time being. Hopefully we will be able to learn more about this promising Muspell from NightEternal soon.

Very nice tutorial man, but for some reason katana can't connect to my account in the kongregate chat. It asks me to sign in. Do you know why?
ReplyDeleteUh, there is one point I didn't make clear inside the video, that is I minimized the browser, not closing it. If you close the browser your session will be lost.

ReplyDeleteMonster Den is really easy to hack actually, as the only difference is that it uses AS3 instead of AS2, which does not multiplies all the values by 8. Load up Cheat Engine and search for the actual values, not *8.

ReplyDeleteNight had trouble with making it inject normal variables into the kongregate games. It does _root variables but doesn't wanna work with normal. Though it works with normal variables on any game but kongregates, it's a problem caused with the loader.

Very nice tutorial, but the little light won't turn green when I load up the chat. Not sure why this is so, even with the minimizing of the browser.

ReplyDeleteAs near as I can tell, Flash Katana simply doesn't work - I tried using it to simply play the games it downloads knowing about, and it failed miserably; I suspect the reason is that it uses flash 6, which is obsolete. I tried playing e.g. Shield Defense (not the Kong version) which Katana ships knowing about, and it wouldn't even play, forget any cheats.
ReplyDeleteSpecifically, the background terrain loaded, then some floating hitpoint bars appeared and started circling, and some explosions started occurring in the upper left hand corner. Nothing else happened, like, say, the splash screen loading (although the initial advertisement splash did load before that).

ReplyDeleteFor fold you can give yourself as many balls as you want easily with cheat engine. I'm not sure how to increase your lives, but this helps a bit at least. Now to get through the levels with the terrible controls.

ReplyDelete@Carbon: I beat Fold within a blink after watching LordDazzer's videos. The game will become awfully easy once you know how should you place your balls for each stage and the right maneuvers to take. Dunno why so many people think it's difficult, really. It's a pretty nice game.
That's what I did, just went and found a video of someone doing it really nicely except I used my own strategy on a level or two. Then for the people who must cheat you can get Inf. Gravity balls just multiply how many you have by 8 then throw one and decrease and keep going till you get the right value. If you can't do it with inf gravity balls then.... yeah.

Well, so far I've been passed THROUGH a wall four times on one level, been splattered on the wall for using too much gravity, and had anomalies that fail to fire when the mouse is clicked. Infinite gravity is nice, infinite lives is the correct answer. ;) This is probably something Katana/Muspell can deal with - haven't looked at the score, but that'll likely need addressing for the Impossible badge.

Make sure you have "Lock Value" checked for all cheats, press spacebar and click the restart button and now you should have all the badges that meet the situations your cheats have set.

ReplyDeleteWhat's the point of cheating? The badges are there as an award for completing the challenge. You don't get anything other than a pretty graphic on your profile page and a sense of self-accomplishment.

Because if this "accompanying sense of achievement" will require you to invest more than hours on a single badge challenge, like this one - it's simply a luxury for many people around. You were only seeing things from your own point of view and that is the flaw.

ReplyDeleteFor some reason Katana has decided to be a fucksmudge for me and won't work. I followed the link on CE forum to the latest .net shit and got all that. And I still get an error whenever I do pretty much ANYTHING (Try to run a game, try to delete a game).

What did you mean by "to the T"...?
ReplyDeleteThe badges are only offered for the normal and endurance modes, so you may want to check if you were playing inside wrong modes. Or if you are certain it's about Katana, you may also try Niflheim instead.

I am not sure what is the problem you're trying to say... Did you mean the sothink addon? You need to download it or similar addons; it's not inside vanilla Firefox.

One most possible explanation is that those addons need to be totally re-written to fit in the structure of Firefox 3.0; in that case you can try out Niflheim instead. It's similar but more polished in a way, and if you need further assistance, our community can be of great helps.

I'm noticing the URL from .swf catcher is far shorter then the one I saw from your video and 2.) The chat in Katana will NOT connect regardless if the session for my browsers kongregate's chat is up or not. (In other words I had firefox minimized, closed, etc., I tried many alternatives). I'm assuming it might be that the URL is not giving me all the stuff I need so, any advice on that?
