I have managed to pull off a
forum for this blog under
some request. While I am not very sure about the necessity of a forum, it's nevertheless good to have one than none. I must mention it though that I am using the preview release of phpBB 3.0, so if you happen to notice anything weird along the way, please bring it to my attention so I could check to see whether it's about my forum settings or some unresolved bug of the software. This also effectively replaces the function of that old "
Pissed" post.

ReplyDeleteYou can use VB to do the same thing, but I would just get muspell/firefox to work. Since it's _root, cheat engine isn't going to get you far.

ReplyDeleteVB stands for Visual Basic - it's a programming language. It has an easy way to change flash variables. Muspell is easier (especially if you don't know how to use VB).

How do you install muspell in firefox? I've tried putting it in the main directory of firefox and it's sub folders, but it doesn't show up in firefox.
ReplyDeletegameace, beat me to a guide, but I've made a more simplistic for people if they're stuck with Muspell.
ReplyDeleteDownload Muspell.
Install it by dragging it into a Firefox window. If you have a previous version you need to uninstall it.
Load up MAD.
Go to Tools, then toggle Muspell. This then pops up a window at the bottom of the screen. Select the correct SWF from the list. We want something that starts with "GameShell_".
Start the game, blast a few missiles (try to keep your accuracy high here).
Now, we're going to change a few variables. First resources, so we can buy everything we want. First, we're going to check we've got the correct name for the variable by using the "Get Variable" part of Muspell. Enter _root.resources into the bottom left box, and hit "Get variable". We get a number, so we know it works. Now stick _root.resources in the top box and change it to whatever you would like (I don't recommend going much above 10k). You will need 10k resources when you die to check that off the impossible badge.
I hope you've got the hang of setting/getting/changing variables with Muspell. I'll just list all the ones you will need for the badges.
_root.score (set to 10k)
_root.maxcombo (set to 40)
_root.kills (set to 2000)
_root.encounters (set to 3000)
_root.deadeye (set to 400)
_root.freefallers (set to 400)
This should get you all the badges.

ReplyDeleteWard of warning, I'm not sure if it was only me or not. Anytime I change the resources value after I destroy the next missle it adds about 3-5 extra 0's onto what I had it set as. Then the next missle it add's more onto it ;\.

Thanks for the help ghost. I've got another question. How do you find the variables? I've been having trouble with DTD impossible badge, and the only thing I can find with CE, is health and time. So I figure that the gold is a _root variable since I can't find it with CE.

ReplyDeleteDark, not all games use _root, very few do actually. Also DTD is obfuscated so finding the exact variable could be hard. I know for a fact gold is named something gold though not sure what. I've never really bothered to see if I could get them. They may be posted somewhere not sure though.

ReplyDeleteI double checked, and it's _root.maxcombo you want to use (it does work).
ReplyDeleteFor Hexiom:
- Freeze the timer using CE.
- Copy the level code to a different Hexiom on another site.
- You can then use space to highlight the tiles which are in the right place. You should be able to solve it quite easily.
- Leave it one tile from completion, then copy the arrangement on to Kong.

ReplyDeleteWell, it may not be Gold for DTD, I was just searching through the memory and gold did appear so I kinda made an assumption at it. I Messed around with a "variable scanner" since I couldn't figure out the variables though it didn't really help much.
ReplyDeleteFor DTD, its real easy, with Cheat engine, Find the adress for the levels, and your life, start building, then hop back to level 1... over and over and over again, when you've got something strong enough, send 2-3 waves at a time.
ReplyDeleteand freezing lives dont work, just set it to like 8000 so if something goes by, you'll have lots of lives to spare.
That doesn't help much though =P. I know about that before. Was just seeing if there was any way much easier.

_root.team2_score ( that's the other guy ) give him/them whatever you want them to have.
I only found this root value after making my way to level 11 and used it on that one. Damn I wish I'd found it before then

I need 9 badges to have every badge on kongregate and they are all games i am stuck on. Terrascape (lazy) Mindscape (cant find a way to hack) Max Mesiria (i tried and found a way to get my str up but it wont stay past lvl 1 in battle mode) Fold (im not good enough to get either of the harder badges Papa Louie (boring) and i think sola rola. I could use any help on any of those game cause i am kinda at a stuck point in all of them. THanks

ReplyDeleteThis time it's the Fancy Pants World 1 Run Fast, Run Fancy Badge (hard – 30 points) where you have to finish in under 3 minutes.
if you set _root.frameCounter to 5156 just before defeating the Boss Penguin, you'll end up with a time of about 172 seconds ( 2 minutes 52 seconds ). Any faster than that and Kongregate will begin to think about banning you for cheating ... don't get greedy.
And if you want a really easy run, set _root.maxBaddies to 0, and you'll be able to pass through the spiders etc without being hit. But you'll need to change it back to 1 to fight the Boss penguin otherwise he can't detect your presence.

In answer to someone's query a few days ago, I am using Niflheim.
Try this for the badge on buttonhunt. Using niflheim go to frame 433 and complete the final puzzle.
